Tiger and Rabbit Years 2011-12
Tumultuous Tiger Year’s (2010-11) Yang Metal Year Element, brought conflicts and crises affecting global money-supply and national currencies. Rabbit Year (2011-12) provided some welcome rest and respite necessary to prepare for Dragon Year 2012-13. Yin Metal, 2011-12 Year Element, emphasised a focus on personal, rather than national, finance and on conservation and cultivation in this and other fields.
A more laid-back, easygoing and relaxed time for individuals especially those avoiding avoid excessive laxity, particularly in financial matters) the Metal Year Element intensified issues and made them more enduring as the year progressed. Dragon Year 2012-13: Year 5 of the Current 12-Year Cycle
‘The Dragon (Lung) changes shape quickly, taking those unprepared by surprise!’ This maxim describes China’s well-known penchant for sudden (healthy) expansion, at certain times (like now!). This should continue and even intensify during Dragon Year 2012-13.
Dragon Years, nevertheless, can be unpredictable and surprise-filled as Lively ‘Lung’ can be a Volatile Visitor. Yang Water as Year Element suggests strong emotional currents affecting Public Life, particularly in relation to finance and wealth-generation. Communications and messaging: overseas, across oceans, via rivers and across streams etc. could also be affected.
Lung’s nature is essentially spiritual–associated with noble ideals and altruism. Flexibility and foresight, useful qualities to display in Dragon Years, will enable individuals to adjust to unfolding events. Meditating on such issues will help them ‘attune’ beneficially to Dragon Year Energies in advance. Previous Dragon Year (2000) was Millennium Year, perhaps you can remember the ‘buzz’ and excitement it brought!
Water Dragon Year 2012-13: Friendly Feng Shui!
Locations:
Water is associated with the West and North-West sectors of rooms and dwellings; Dragon affinities are with the East and South-East (via Wood Element links).
Colours: Black (Water at night); Blue (Water in daylight).
Materials: Glass (plain and coloured), mirrors, plastics, natural crystals, silk.
Objects and Motifs: Fish, Taiji Symbols, water-features, Dragons (Eastern not Western) Seascapes (especially Water-Colours),the Chan Chu Feng Shui Toad or Money-frog, boats Aquaria, shells, waves and wavy patterns and designs. Streets and Roads (traffic streams) are classified as Water for Feng Shui purposes.
The Feng Shui principle of ‘resemblance’ means a picture, drawing, photo or replica can be as useful as an original.
Crystals and Minerals:
Black and ‘Snowflake’ Obsidian (water-cooled volcanic lava outflows) correspond to Water in Feng Shui. Displays off-set with Quartz and reflected by Mirrors, both Yin Metal for Feng Shui purposes, may be particularly effective. This is also a good time to position crystal Treasure Ships and Money Trees (particularly the Agate variety) in the South East ‘Wealth Sector’ of Locations to ensure the arrival and ongoing growth of prosperity.
Backgrounds:
Metal supports/produces/backgrounds Water in Feng Shui (tanks, taps, pipes and pans confirm this–it also can melt and flow). Backgrounds utlising this Element’s features (colours, materials etc) as above, can encourage healthy Qi-flows within dwellings during this period.
